My son is considering an application to GCY–why I was on the website this a.m.–and I “just happened” to end up reading your entry. We live in China, and have experienced the things you’ve shared: common bonds built on faith, the mutuality that comes from shared poverty (whether spiritual, social, emotional, or physical) and being the helped when we thought we would be the helpers. It is a good life, no? Praying you will persevere and continue being salt and light there. Peace.
