I am sure you realize how much easier it is to live in the U.S. despite the crazy political situation which exists. Hopefully you are now back to normal and you can get on with everyday life in Ecuador including your job. btw are you speaking fluently yet ? It really sounds like you are making the best of a really difficult situation and these kinds of issues may be more than you bargained for but you have surely handled them far better than most people would even dream of and this will make life itself easier in the future and prepare you for unforseen events.
