So beautiful reading this post by you girl! Making the connections between art and survival, art and resistance. The intersection of art and resistance is alive and well here in Bahia for sure, something I also noticed upon arrival here in this culturally rich environment.
There is no denying that the art here holds strong ties to the history and culture of those, ‘forgotten’ by society. Ever present, whether your waiting for the bus, walking to the beach, going to meet a friend, vibrant colors, shapes and sounds envelope you, forcing you to listen and become just as present as they.
I look forward to sitting down and talking to you, and I am so excited that you are taking this all in for what it is.
Much Love!
Hannah
