I think obviously it’s a complex topic and there is a lot going on in the world that perhaps could be improved – for the world’s sake and for humanity’s sake. Also, change is constant and difficult to measure, especially when there are so many players in the game. What I mean by “trying to understand” the world first is that many times, we assume we know what is best when trying to create change in areas and cultures that are different from our own (or even in our own cultures, for that matter). I am no expert in this but I am trying to learn, and I think that before assuming we are going to create a change, we need to understand what the circumstances of the situation are and try to understand the needs of a place and its people. What is it that is needed? How is change created in a way that involves the community? More so, that is run and sustained by the community. I think many times people want to help but help isn’t always given in a away that is useful (in some cases it can be detrimental). So when entering a community, especially if its not your own, we need to learn from the way it works in order to try make change and then try to repeat what works. Of course, there will be mistakes and change takes time, and there is more than one solution available.

I think many people want to help and that its important that we support each other. What I think is necessary is that we work together to make change instead being a “superman’. This is because we want the community to be able to help themselves instead of being dependent on someone.
