What a coincidence. I didn’t really get into the Tenderloin, but we were in the area. The poverty in San Francisco is very visible and very deep. The sheer numbers of homeless and the looks on the faces of many of the street people was very saddening. Many times, it is not until you wander down those “sketchy” streets and explore the neighborhoods that everyone says to stay away from that you discover the conditions faced by large portions of the American populace. In San Francisco, you don’t have to look far.
